When I was introduced to Patty Dague I had a 4 year-old Quarter horse mare (see picture above) that was green broke but had some “major issues.” Patty completely retrained Amy Lou and helped her overcome the fear and issues which made her unsafe for most riders.
Patty is self-taught and trains horses with a unique natural horsemanship style. She is demanding of the horse but does not break the spirit of the horse. I will definitely take more horses to her for training. Patty will add value to your horse if you are selling. If you are not selling, you will have a horse more useable and enjoyable to be around.
Patty is also a great teacher for beginning riders or riders who want to move their ability to a higher level. I highly recommend Patty for your training or riding lesson needs.

There are “horse trainers” and there are “horse traders.” And then there’s South River Stable, where you will find experienced, insured, equine professionals that won’t steer you wrong. If you should ride a bike instead of riding a horse, we’ll tell you. If you have a “problem” horse that someone claimed was “trained,” we can help you fix their mistakes. While each horse is different and each situation is unique, we feel that we never “break” a horse. Who would want a horse with a broken spirit? We can help!
